One of the unexpected motivations of SparkPeople...

Five days into my Spark experience, and I caught a virus from my son. Sniffles, sore throat, cough, headache - all the icky stuff that means walking and other cardio (OK - anything that required my head to move, or me to bend over) were a no-go. After such a good start, that kind of "set-back" would usually make me despondent enough to throw up my hands and moan about how this health change would never happen.

What was different this time? I didn't give up, or blame myself. I drank my eight glasses of water a day and kept making healthy meals because I had Spark goals to remind me about what I ~could~ do, even if I couldn't get out and exercise. It helps so much!
