I WILL SURVIVE

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Dedicated to my victory over Potato Chips (Tune of "I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor)

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without potato chips by my side

But I spent so many nights
thinking about how unhealthy choices were wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on

But bad habits came back
from outer space
I just walked in to find them there
with temptation in my face

I should have changed my stupid habits
I should have read more post to motivate
If I had known for just one second
old habits will be back to bother me

Go on now, go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with empty calories
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die

Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as I know how to eat
I know I’ll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
There are other choices to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
and kept my broken body in the dark
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry

Now with Spark People I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I won’t be that overweight person
I’ll be made brand new,
so if you felt like dropping in
just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for the healthy choices loving me

I will survive
as long as I know how to eat
I know I’ll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
There are other choices to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

I had to chuckle at this song(poem) I can relate.

Lay's is my all time favorite chips.
