Grindin' The Slow & Steady...

Friday, June 25, 2010

Hey Good Morning!

My glucose came in at 120 this morning and I hammered out 75 Sit-ups, good form, core tight...the last 10-15 were no joke.

I guess the pace of my weight loss is not entirely upto me, atleast it's not upto my thinking and my head. My body seems to have it's own groove going and running on 'Island Time'....so Mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) to you my body...thanks for helping me lose 1 more pound this week.

Of course after stringing together some rock solid days of training and fueling my metabolism I expected, or better yet I hoped for more than a pound. But I'm cool with it, 10lbs down so far this month and so I'm going to keep on
'Grindin' The Slow & Steady...'

I've got something weird going on with my right thumb, at the first knuckle or tendon that controls some of my thumb control...it does not feel like a break, but something is up no doubt and it's really painful. I'm gonna try not messing with it too much, give it a few days and see where it's at before cutting it off and getting out the duct tape.

Cindy flys in, picking her up at the airport around 4:30, so that'll be really nice to see her and have her home. After 3-4 days with her folks and being out of her routine...she wants to come home too.

Super sunny, a little muggy and a few more Hibiscus Blooms opened up this morning. A few shots from early this a.m. on the patio, one close up inside the flower:

I'm gonna keep doing my thing today, connect the dots with mindful healthy choices and then just try to enjoy the ride. Have a Smooth Friday, Ryan

Another pound lost is better then another pound gained. Good job on the 10 for this month. Glad you're feeling good, except for your thumb. hope it feels better soon. Flowers look beautiful. Love the pics. Hope you're having an awesome weekend.

    Hi Ryan
We just become friends and this the first blog that I have read. What I feel from your blog, is an individual that is focused, motivated and excited about his journey. That I am impressed with. Also, although you only released 1 pound this week, you have released 10 pounds this month and I think that is fantastic. As a side, I like to use the word release as indicates gone for ever, where lost can be found, so a blog couple months ago that said that. the word only is coming from how you felt.
Now a little bit about the thumb and I know you wouldn't cut it off, the thumb is a handy thing to keep around, so if it doesn't get better, see a doctor.
    Beautiful pictures of your hibiscus.

Thank you for sharing and adding as a friend, you have done an awesome job on your journey. Congratulations

Slow and steady wins the race . . . and you're winning!!! Congrats on the weight loss and keeping the faith. I love your new pic. The energy jumps right off the page when I look at it! Did you ever dream you'd be so active? Way to go!!

Love the flowers. Your neighborhood looks so pretty---especially your porch!

Glad Cindy's coming back today. I'm sure you'll be glad to be back together!

    Have a great day!

Good morning to you! Have a great day, sounds like you are already headed there! My FBG today was 111. I take it every a.m. and as a pre-diabetic, I'm usually between 100-120. It's cool to have another number to look at, instead of always watching the scale.

p.s. 10 lbs in a month is excellent progress, congrats! As you say, you're in it for the long haul.

WOW beautiful pictures! I LOVE duct tape - I was doing a blog devoted to the subject for a few months a couple years back, but using it the way you mentioned is NOT a preferred method, I don't think! Anyway have yourself a great day.
