Makin' Your Way, Takes Everything Ya Got...

Wednesday, July 07, 2010

Good Morning,

Finally a little rain....it's a nice break from the crazy humidity.

Got my 60 sit-ups in and my plan is to rally for a few hours at my desk and hit the pool for a work-out around 11:30ish.

Makin' your way does take everything you got....

Across the board, living life, learning...growing, it all takes alot of effort, a little each day adds up to alot and I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe a better way to say that is, I would not change anything in my life so far....all of my own experience has made me & given me a very rich life already.

Cindy & I had a "situation" in the bathroom this morning. I get up way early, do my thing and start plugging away at my desk....Cindy usually gets up an hour or so later and starts the shower and then she has coffee at her desk. Well, the shower running sounded a little off but not enough for either of us to check it out....15 minutes later and 2 inches of water we found the hand held hose had sprung a leak and our bathroom had turned into a carwash. The kinda thing that's funny later....versus when it's happening.

Overall I'm doing my best to accept myself as I am, to work with what I've got and be where I am on this weight-loss journey...no matter how it looks at any given time, this is about me making the internal changes...it's not a race or a pass/fail class. Clearly I'm a high-maintenance individual, so I'm making my way in the world today and trusting that I'm not in trouble, I'm not going to fail...I'm trusting that even though it's scary, it's absolutely ok to be me in this world.

Have a great day, Ryan

    Inspirational attitude!

When we first moved in to our new house almost two years ago we had a similar situation. We'd run the dishwasher & found a flood all over the tiled kitchen. I hurried for towels & a mop but for a while it was a challenge.

Sounds like you managed it beautifully. What a reminder to get in your water for the day. LOL

Ryan - I think self-acceptance is a huge key to success. We have all suffered from self-loathing - reinforced by the opinions of others - due to the weight problem. Coming to a place where we are accepting of who we are and where we are on this journey is a huge step forward. I'm like you - I've come to really LIKE the person I am - faults and foibles included - and know that I'm on the right path for me. And thanks to all the fabulous support that we have here, we're both going to continue to make great strides in being the very best that we can be. Keep up the wonderful work and please keep on blogging. You inspire!

We had a similar leak in our bathroom a few years ago. Hubby was by the sink, one kid and I were in the bathroom reading the "Do-It-Yourself" book and we were blocked in by Hubby. He started trying to fix the faucet handle when it popped off. My kid and I were trying to escape, laughing the whole time and getting drenched. Hubby shouted, "Yeah, this would be funny... if it weren't HOT water!" He laughs about it now, and we now have a shut off valve on that sink to prevent any further issues.

So did you have Match Box/Hot Wheels in there or is your bathroom big enough to bring the real car in to get washed?! LOL. I'm laughing about it already. Hey, it's just water, right?

    Take care and stay healthy
