Never Under-Estimate the Power of Gum

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

From September to December I had a little jar with candy in it sitting on the corner of my desk to share with my co-workers. I sit in the very front of the office and the probation officers use the back door so I would rarely see any of them. Since I was new it was a good way to lure them to the front to chat and get to know them.

When our office decided to have a diet contest I exchanged the candy jar with a gum bar. I used the lids to plastic butter dishes ($1.97 @ Wal-Mart) as my gum trays. They are just the right size to hold gum upright. I started with one and now I have 4 of them.

I've been having a problem lately remembering what kind of gum I already have sitting in my trays, so today I decided to make a list so I could take it with me to the store and look for new varieties.

Currently sitting on my desk at this very moment.........I have 41 .......................(yes I said FORTY ONE)................ different types of gum. My little gum bar is a big hit and people come and see me all the time now. They think my little gum bar is the absolute coolest idea.

If you have a desk, I highly recommend making a gum bar!
