I'm stuck!

Friday, July 30, 2010

I've been going to the Gym since July 8 between 4-5 days a week doing cardio on the elliptical machine and swimming. Strength training I am doing also on those days too not really noticing a difference in my weight so far still at 239lbs today. I know I am in the gaining muscle point of exercising daily. My only difference is I have more energy and don't feel so tired. I have been watching what I eat and drinking lots of water. One good thing to say is I can last 45min on the elliptical machine and burn over 500 calories! I know I want some type of instant changes but I have to keep going and get to my goal. I haven't been able to loose weight since I had my gallbladder/appendix surgery on April 7th. I know my body is still recovering but hope it hurries up lets me get going towards my weigh loss goal of 150lbs!!!

So interestingly my surgeon swears it is the surgery. I am stuck too, and most days doing all the right things. Maybe it is just the heat of summer! I am trying to ignore the scale for awhile and just focus on eating healthy and being fit. I am sure the scale WILL catch up - for both of us!!!

Nope I think you better go and get some blood work done. If you are staying within your calorie range and you are doing that much exercising, there is something not right!!

Just remember you are building lean muscle as you are doing these work outs. Are you keeping track of nutrition? You may want to take your menu into a nutritionist and see if they would suggest any changes as your body may not be processing the food you are eating into fuel to burn the fat away.
Have you taken your measurements? I think that is a better indicator that your body is changing.
Irregardless, keep working out - it sounds like your body is getting healthier.

That is part of the challenge of PCOS unfortunately :( I had the same issues...I went from doing nothing to going to the gym 3-5 times per week AND changing my diet but yet in 6 weeks I only wound up losing 5 pounds. There is no way that is right or fair. I absolutely understand what you are going through and my only advice is to keep looking for the results off the scale...for me a big one was my bras started to fit better (feels amazing)

I had my gallbladder out last October and I had been on Round 2 of my HCG Diet when I'd had the gallbladder attack, so I had to stop and then wait 3 months to go through the system to get the surgery at my hospital. I regained all the weight during that time, and it was SO frustrating. I tried another round in December but with the holidays it just didn't work, so finally here in May I did another Round and it went well. I'm on another Round now, so doing fine. I really think it took me about a year to be back to "normal" from my gallbladder mess, so I know how you are feeling.

Well I know how you feel I was on a plateau for ages and it seemed like I would never lose the weight... I was waiting to lose enough so I would become overweight instead of obese... now as I look back only about a month and a half ago I did finally lose the weight.. sometimes only my neck size changed or my waist..

but I stuck with sparks and kept doing it .. now I wonder why I am not losing faster and staying the same weight a couple of weeks then losing 2 pounds.. \ so my bmi is 29.1 so I passed that hurdle and I am still wondering why I am losing so slow I hardly notice it... emoticon
