I'm not ready to have my weight loss slow down!

Thursday, August 26, 2010

I have been losing weight at an amazing rate. Thirty seven pounds in July, of course, having a gastric bypass helps a lot! This month however, I've only lost 12.5 lbs. I have been struggling to get my new plumbing "regulated". I know what it is though, I am going to have to EXERCISE. Not just more but ANY! Last month I could get by with my recovering from surgery, but not any more. My surgeon gave me a complete release for physical exercise. Now I just need to get off of my skinnier backside and just do it. It's hard for me to get motivated and so easy to make excuses. So any way I went walking for 20 minutes on my lunch hour. It's actually drop dead gorgeous out today. Mild with a breeze and sunny. So I'm going to do 3 times a week at the gym. I pay $25 a month to the gym, and have for over a year, I went 2-3 times last YEAR! You know it would be great to just pay the money and pull a lever and have the benefits of exercising, but just doesn't work that way.

The only way (weigh?) to keep up my weight loss is to (cringe) Exercise. Maybe it will get the rest of my plumbing "regulated" too. Wish walking around JC Pennies and spending money would qualify.

OK, so that is not so me, I weigh much more and my hair is short!

I know how you dread "EXERCISE". Shades of having to do calisthenics on the playground in the hot sun in elementary school!

Now try this: Think... hula hoops. Pogo sticks. Jump rope! Enjoying the scenery or bird-watching while you walk briskly. Bounce a big ball down the block and back. Frisbee! Freeze Tag with the kids! Challenge yourself to RUN full tilt...for 10 steps... next time, make it 11 steps, and the time after that 12 steps, and so on.... Plastic inflatable balls are cheap, and so is all the other stuff I mentioned -- with the possible exception of a pogo stick. Figure out how to have FUN while moving and the "exercise " won't be a chore!

Shopping would be awesome exercise. I do just need to get off my butt and start doing something also. Well good luck! Hope things start picking back up for you!
