Many of you know that the State of IL laid me off as of the first of June. I've been called back to work as of next Monday.
That's not the problem...the problem WAS with almost 30 pounds gone, I had nothing to wear to an office job! That is until today .
Before I start with my triumph with clothes, I want to mention another one. It was a couple months ago already, and I'm sure I didn't mention it on SP.
I was sitting on the couch with my partner; we were watching television. Suddenly I realized something terrific and said, "Susie, I'm sitting like a lady!" It had been at least two years, maybe more, since I had sat comfortably with one leg crossed over the other at the knee.
Now, for the clothes: I was able to buy two pair of slacks to go with my too big but they'll do for now tops. THESE WERE MISSES SIZES...NOT WOMENS!
Next (this will tell you the store I was in) I went to the shoe department for Rock.N.Fits. I had read a review online by a nurse who is on her feet all day. She had wanted to try the new 'exercise' shoe without paying a fortune. This lady raved about them! Said not to even bother with the more expensive version. She was now able to walk and stand all day without her calves and ankles suffering.
I bought two pair: white gym type ones
and black cute 'Mary Janes' (but sportier) that are a bit dressier. I only hope the purple inside doesn't show if I'm wearing a green top or something.
Next came a haircut. That was interesting, too. The hairdresser brought me in the back of the salon. Said one of her customers works at the hospital and brought her all this food and that the four of them in the salon couldn't possible eat it all. She wanted me to take some. I came home with better hair, a huge cantaloupe and large bunch of bananas.
What a great day!
I wish all of you a day that is just as pleasing to you!
