operation cut the sugar

Wednesday, September 15, 2010

So, here we are at the beginning of another BLC round! I'm ready to get back to it and have missed teh challenges and fun that goes along with it. Now onto describing my goals for this round!

Nutrition~Well I was thinking of making this just about tracking but the more I think about it the more I realize that I REALLY need to cut down/ cut out the sugar. I'm totally addicted. It doesn't help that my dad used to take us to DQ several nights a week growing up. lol BUT I do know that I can cut it and need to. So I think my goal for nutrition will be to cut down to having a sweet treat 3x a week. Right now it's pretty much every day so I think this would be a good goal for me.

Fitness~My fitness goal is to keep getting regular exercie for at least 20min a day days a week Basically the BLC 12 week streak. I seem to do well for a while then pitter out after a while. I really want to keep at it. Even if it's just something like using my wii fit plus exercises. I know I feel so much better when I'm getting exercise in!

Personal goal~This is one I've always struggled with but trying to do better. I have made a chore chart of sorts and have the cleaning that needs done on there with set days to make sure that they all get done each week. Earlier in the summer I was doing well but then I started homeschooling my oldest and have had a hard time getting back into it regularly. I need to revamp it a bit to update and hange things and tehn keep on it. things are much less chaotic when my home is in order and if that means getting up earlier to get it done I just may have to do that.

So, how my BLC spies can help me by keeping me motivated to exercise, track and cut back on my sugar intake. I've also talked to Darlene about banding together to kick our sugar habits! It feels good to know that I have someone here with me on this already!

Hmm m secret spy mission.... operation cut the sugar ! emoticon

You can do it, Jacquie! I have a problem with sugar, too, it sounds like alot of us on the team have a problem with it. For me it's chocolate though, that's my real weakness. I'm going to beat it this round, and so are you! And I can totally relate to trying to find the time for chores and feeling alot better when everything is done.

    Great Goals! emoticon

I need a chore chart around the house but by the time I get home I would just ignore it anyways... too tired from a ten hour day at work and then an hour or two in the gym. emoticon

Sugar, that seems to be a favorite of a lot of us. I just don't keep any around. Once I start I can't stop. Try doing some of the low-carb things. LIke low-carb snacks and start your day off with some proteins. It will get easier once you get some of that sugar out of your system. Good Luck!

quiltingsheri and kyralae~Yep I have heard of flylady and have beeen trying to use her zone missions each day. I also have started some of the routines. I love her site!

Tricia~I never even thought of that! Yikes! I may have to look into other options and check the sugar in things I'm buying.

    Thanks everyone!

have you heard of The Flylady? Go to Flylady.com or Flylady.org - she has wonderful tips on keeping things flowing at home. There is also a flylady page here in Sparkpeople. I can't put into words how helpful that site has been. :)

Great goals & I know you can do it.

I have been reading alot about sugar addiction lately & it seems to me often the "hidden" sugar in foods is what triggers us wanting the "obvious" sugar foods. For example..many low fat yogurts have over 10 grams of sugar per serving, when the recommended amount is less than 5 grams. so..you eat yogurt, trying to be healthy & a bit later all you can think about is cupcakes..or cookies or whatever!!

I am trying (not always succeeding, but trying!) to only purchase items that have the 5 grams of sugar or less.

Here's to us both having a successful 12 weeks!!!!

Great and realistic goals! I don't know if you have ever checked out Flylady.com but it is the greatest site to de-clutter your home (and life) and establish cleaning routines that make it a pleasure rather than a chore.

I love your personal goal. I find that writing a daily task list helps me get my chores done. Then I have the luxury of checking things off with a emoticon and it makes me feel accomplished EVERY DAY! I put my daily task list right in my blogs. If you think this is something that might help you to stay on your cleaning schedule, feel free to check out my daily goal blogs for ideas.

I think you are doing great! And I may join you guys in cutting the sugar. Awesome idea!
