emoticon Ok After losing 175lbs I slipped , tripped , and fell flat on my face. And To think it all started with only one really, really good Christmas cookie. So for the last 10 months I started trying to lose the few pounds I gained over Christmas. emoticon The sad thing is I only succeeded to try just hard enough to gain 4lbs a month. So in less than a year I have packed on 40lbs emoticon

Now at 11:30am today It hit me! What hit me you ask? It's really just this simple, Trying to lose weight is not the same thing as losing weight.

I kneed to get back to what works for me, PULL THE FORK OUT OF MY MOUTH,[ AND THE SPOON], and start counting my calories, ALL OF THEM.

Now for the plan, I will go back to eating 1200 to 1400 calories a day,and stay away from cookies. Get back to my friendships on Sparkpeople. And if for no other reason I need Your HELP, SUPPORT, AND ACCOUNTABILITY.

With this said I am done with trying to lose weight emoticon

Toby, Its not about losing weight. Its a life style. A person live the lifestyle changes. Everything else will just happen and fall into place including weight loss. So don't beat yourself up just get back into the swing of things. Sounds like you have a great plan. I also need you too. Your email was a prayer answered for me. I have lost 78lbs since August 2007. In June I had a Lupus Flare. Took a round of high dose of steroids and was placed on exercise restriction. I have been lost without no routine. Eating everything in site. Since June 25 I have gained 15 lbs emoticon I have been trying to think of ways to get my appetite under control despite the fact that I'm no longer on steroids. So your in good company here. We are all in this together step at one s!

That is such a hard thing to admit to (gaining weight back). I've been there too. It's great that you're going to nip it in the bud instead of gaining EVERYTHING back before you realize what happened. You can do it!

Hi Toby! I loved your blog because that is the same phrase I love to use "I'm trying". And, you are right. Trying is not the same as doing. It seems so simple, but once you get your mind wrapped around that simple fact, you are on your way. You have done such a fantastic job, so please don't beat yourself up. I have been going up and down for a year and I have only lost 30 pounds (19 as of today)I am back on track and it sounds like you are too. Dutchie is a great friend and she cares about you, so let's keep going in the right direction.

You know you can do this. Stop beating yourself up. This is reversible. You know what to do. You know why you need to do it. Now make it so. (These words are for me, too, as I am up 10 pounds.)

Dutchie shared you blog with me & I can feel your pain. I haven't actually gained (just a matter of time...), but I have been stuck for a long time at one spot. I know why, the same reason-eating choices. I just have had a struggle with craving certain foods. While cookies for you, it is some convenience foods and this summer, ice cream. Sigh! Well, we'll do this together. emoticon and so can I.

Just joking about an actual team like that, but I WOULD BE a charter member.

My dear friend Dutchie sent me your page. I think because she knows that I'm in the same boat you're in. I have gained back a good chunk of the weight that I had lost and am terribly embarrassed about it. It's amazing to me how fast it actually came back.

So I will be keeping tabs on you, my new friend. And I hope you will do the same for me. Let's do this!
