The same ole' blog again....

Friday, October 08, 2010

This week has been really bad for me. I just feel "off", don't know how else to describe it. I think that my frustration over my weight loss (or lack there of recently) is taking it's toll.

The stupid scale just won't move! Now I know I'm the first to comment on plateau blogs telling people to be patient, believe in the process and continue to make good decisions but COME ON ALREADY! This is freakin' ridiculous....

I work out more than ever before in my life. 2-3 bootcamps per week, 1 personal training session per week (which involves ST and extense cardio), plus running/walking/ST at home. Everytime I use the ladies room at work I do 20 pushups and I use the ladies room A LOT!! (that probably seems funny to some but I am hellbent on having Angelina arms :). I am burning HUGE amounts of calories every week. I can see muscle that was never seen before so WHAT GIVES???

I make smart food decisions 99.9% of the time. I pack breakfast, lunch and snacks to bring to work everyday. My idea of an eating binge has become an extra apple at "snack time". :) HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO BE PATIENT???

I read my Sparkfriends pages and watch their tickers go down so what are they doing that I'm not??? (Don't get me wrong friends I am totally happy watching your tickers go down!!)

Ok, my rant is over.

I need to be patient, continue making good decisions, focus on health not numbers, and enjoy the journey not be looking out in the distance for the destination!

Love you all...keep at it...be happy and healthy!

When I read your blog about the amount of exercising you were doing, I had the same thought Meeowww had about whether or not you are getting enough calories. I think some of us make that mistake, convinced we can't go above i.e. 1400 calories, but because of all we are burning, if we consistently burn too much and eat too little, our metabolism slows down thinking our bodies are in starvation mode.
It sounds as if your exercise routines are intense enough, but another suggestion is changing the intensity while doing them.
And lastly, although the scale is not moving for you, with all the push-ups and the ST sessions, you are most likely building some heavy duty muscle. The tape measure and the way your clothes fit are sometimes better indicators of your progress.
Wishing you the best of luck as you continue on your journey.

As much as you're working out you may need to up your calories, protein, and carbs. I tried to check your nutrition but you don't have your tracker shared. Maybe if you could post a few "typical" days of meals, we could critique it for you?

    Wishing you much success, Laura
