5 weeks down...14.5 pounds gone forever!!!

Wow...it's been awhile since I've seen the numbers on the scale going down. I decided about a month and a half ago to try the 6 week body makeover by Michael Thurmond. My friend had started it, and had great success so I thought I would give it a shot. I'm not gonna lie...the first week was HELL! The first day...I wasn't really fit to be around. But after that, it has gotta much easier and I can honestly say that for the first time EVER, I feel like I can make this a healthy lifestyle that I can live with.
This particular program cuts out all added fat, oil, butter, dairy for the first 6 weeks. I can have red meat, chicken, seafood, potatoes, rice, most fruit and all the veggies I want. I eat every 2-3 hours and I drink 100+ oz of water everyday. And I have found a new found love for coffee. It's my special treat everyday. I even splurged and got starbucks to make at home!
I walk for 45-60 minutes 4-5 times a week and I do my strength training 2x a week. It's really a do-able plan. It REALLY works for me. It does require alot of planning and taking my snacks along with me but I am willing to do it when I am getting the results that I have so far!
My husband and I even went away for the weekend and I managed to stay the same after having a few splurges while we were gone. The key was that I got right back on the horse as soon as we got home. I didn't let the few splurges turn into a major binge session that lasted a few days/weeks/etc.
I know that if I want to stay healthy and get to my goals, I am going to have to stick pretty close to this plan. Yes, I will be added some fat, pasta, bread back into my life but I will do so in moderation.
I have about 25 more pounds to go but I am ready to do it! I know it's going to be hard, but the end result is soooo worth it. I can't tell you how great I feel to look in the mirror and see a difference.
