A lesson on giving back

Haven't been on in quite a while but thought this was something I had to share. My DH is a Shriner and yesterday they had a ceremonial where they induct new candidates into the Shrine and they too become Shriner's. Well, one of the men there was also a Shriner kid a long time ago and when he got his Fez which the wife puts on his head his mother and mother-in-law were also there and the Mom spoke about how when he was born he had club feet and one leg that had to be amputated. She stated that if it hadn't been for the Shrine hospital he wouldn't be walking today or might not have even survived. She had the whole Shrine in tears but they were good tears. Then he spoke and said it has now come full circle they gave to me and now I can give back. It was a pretty awesome experience. Our men help lots of kids but we rarely meet the ones we help and this was so cool. It's what it's all about and reinforce what they do really helps.
