Jillian & Leslie...together at last!

This may sound strange to some, but I like to do both kinds of work outs. I had been doing WATP for almost a year and it was helping me to maintain, but I knew I was actually "too fit" for it to really be a good workout for me. Sooooo, I have some friends who were using Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred and I knew it was a tough workout and it seemed to be working for them so I gave it a try. It IS a tough workout. I also have No More Trouble Zones & Banish the Fat, Boost the Metabolism (I can't even make it all the way through that one!) I use them in a rotation that Jillian Michaels put together and it seems to be very effective, at least it really gets my heart rate up and I sweat like crazy, plus I can really see the difference in my leg & arm muscles and my core strength has certainly increased! I haven't really seen any weight loss yet, but I think it is because I have built a significant amount of muscle since I started this, I tend to have quite a bit of muscle anyway. Besides, I am basically at my goal weight and I'm eating in maintenance range which is another reason I haven't lost actual pounds.

However, some days I feel like I could do a little more, especially during vacations and holidays when I don't have to go to work. I may not have enough energy to do a second Shred, but I certainly do have enough left for a walk with Leslie! I love doing the Walk Away the Pounds Videos, they are a good alternative to taking a walk outside when the weather is bad and I have the option of length of walk, using stretchy bands or even weights. I figured that after 20 minutes of shredding I was burning fat and why waste a good burn if I had time to do more, right?

Some times I will do a Shred with Jillian in the morning and a walk with Leslie in the evening, it's a good way to put some extra activity in my day and more steps on the step counter as well. This way I get a good intense workout AND I get to enjoy a nice walk.

I'm sure I'll need the extra activity this week! I don't plan to have a totally free day food wise, but I'm sure I will eat more than I normally do, but I do plan to get a couple of workouts in as well. I will do a Shred in the morning before we leave for my parent's house, and a walk in the evening after we get home.

Another plus is that I can do a walk when I have enough time to exercise, but not enough to shower! I ALWAYS have to shower after a shred!

I will also sometimes swap out a Pilates or Yoga routine instead of the walk. How's that for well rounded?

    I've been wondering how you were doing, glad to hear you are not only well enough to do your work outs, but doing them with such energy!!!

    I too have those 3 Jillian videos, but I am trying to build up some core strength to protect my back before getting back on those. I have only done the shred and had gotten to day 2 before leaving on vacation only to injure my back upon my return, so hopefully by January I'll be up to trying them.

    good job for sticking to it! I've been doing the banish fat boost metabolism! Been consistant so far for the past 2 weeks. First week and a half i maintained my wait and by the 2 week mark i lost 5 lbs finally:)
