Take THAT, you BMI Calculator!

Monday, November 29, 2010

It’s official—after saying goodbye to 72.5 pounds, I’m no longer considered OBESE on the BMI calculator!!!! Oh happy day!!! I’m now only OVERWEIGHT!

I know it probably sounds like I’m bitter & resentful about this, but I’m really not. It’s been a mini-goal I’ve set out to achieve, & I have no fear of my next doctor’s appointment when I have to step on the scale. In fact, I’m hoping they have to look twice at me and back at my chart to make sure they’ve got the right person!

My next goal is to be NORMAL. Will I ever be normal on any grid other than the BMI? Probably not….but one can hope.

Spark on, friends!

    Great job!
I know how wonderful it feels to finally be out of obese, and only into overweight. And, we will get out of this category as well. I had hoped it would be faster than it is, but the older we get, the harder it really is to take it off.
I keep reminding myself that I did not put all of this on in one year, why do I think I should be able to take it all off that fast.

I am celebrating every time I move down a point on the BMI index.
And the smaller numbers seem to take longer than those earlier high numbers. But...we will prevail!
    Again, congratulations!

I look forward to hitting that goal (of being merely "overweight" vs "obese")

    Congratulations! Good job!

fantastic - you have done so well - those BMI calculators aren't always that accurate - if you are doing plenty of exercise and eating healthily that is best!!
I am having a break from J.Michaels at the moment - doing lots of walking instead!!
Keep up the good work! emoticon emoticon
