We had a potluck breakfast at work today. Usually, I go heavy on fruit eggs and maybe bacon at these events. Today, though, one of the guys brought this delish sausage & cream cheese casserole.

I over-indulged. That in itself is not terribly bad, but I over-indulged so much that I am STILL miserable.

I have not really set any food goals for 2011, so now is a good time. When I know it is a heavy dish, I will walk away after half a serving.

After knowingly, willfully and with intention blowing my healthy eating premise off the planet at Christmas and stretching the mindless acts through the new year, I see nothing wrong with a big breakfast. It does cut out lunch and dinner as real meals, but that may be a real good idea once a week.

That does look rather good! I had a chile relleno burrito yesterday and, to tell you the truth, it did not taste as good as I remember them tasting. In fact it was rather greasy! but since I was able to incorporate it in my calories for the day I did not feel guilty. So I guess what I am saying is that you should not deprive yourself of something, just control how much you eat.

Don't beat yourself up. WE ALL, take steps backward but it's the forward ones that count. And we all know you take many many forward steps. You know you need to set those goals, so something good came out of something not so good. You go girl. emoticon

From the photo, I can see why your overindulged! That looks good! Oh well, lesson learned. Move on. It actually helped you to make goals so look at it as a blessing in disguise!

I like your words "walk away after one half serving". It is hard to not indulge, but when you do moderation helps. The holidays were hard for me, but now I am back on track...I see you will too.

Oh.... that looks so good! I have an issue with control and indulging... and it has kicked into overtime the last few weeks! We can be strong and get it under control but the special events are still so difficult! Congrats on setting your goal.... good luck with sticking to it! emoticon

I'm so glad it bothered you. Your bod wants you to create goals for eating. Now I'm not saying I don't indulge. Eating is what's stopping me from achieving my goals. I just take it day by day.

I believe in you. You can do anything.

Good thinking...I wish sometimes that I could remember how I feel after I eat until I hurt...I hate that feeling and I wish I could remember that so I don't do it again!! Good for you that you are planning ahead!!!
