A mish-mash morning

This morning I was part student, part woodsman, and part auto mechanic. Obviously, this is not a normal combo for a city girl, but here I am anyway. I got up and started studying my tail off for class tonight. We had 1.5 cords of wood delivered this morning so we can keep our living room toasty through this bitterly cold winter. A new fact: "delivered" does not mean stacked neatly on a pallet. It means "a mountain of wood now sits in your driveway." Needing somewhere to put my car, I started stacking. I was probably able to fit about half of it in the basement, the other half is now off to the side and under a tarp. Just moving chopped wood is a lot more exercise than you'd think! Then I went to move my car back in the driveway and it wouldn't start. The wretched cold weather has attacked me again! Time to be a mechanic: since this isn't the first time that has happened this winter, I just decided to put in a new battery. The last thing I need is to get stuck late at night when I'm really far away. With my luck that would happen at 2:30am in a downtown garage. Now I'm going to try and resume my student role, I need to learn this stuff by tonight!
