This is the 3rd week that I haven't lost any weight, granted the weather has been bad so I can't walk and I guess I get busy around the house and forget to walk on the treadmill. I haven't gained anything but I guess I just stuck. Plan: to exercise more , watch what I'm eating more closely and hope for a weight loss next week. emoticon emoticon

It isn't as easy getting exercise when it is cold out. I'm not losing anything right now either but before we know it we will have warm weather again. At least you're not gaining. That is the important thing to remember.

I also have a hard time exercising when the weather is cold and bad. It just seems to sap my motivation. Don't let this get you down. The scale is not the only measure of how you are doing. Keep on doing what is right and you'll be dropping pounds again before you know it. Your body is probably just resetting itself.

emoticon Stay strong! These plateaus can be devastating to our mindset if we allow them to. I stayed at the same weight for two months once and was so frustrated that I felt like giving up. My SparkFriends wouldn't let me!
The weather isn't conducive to walking outdoors here, so I've been setting a kitchen timer and walking for 15 minute intervals in a circuit around my apartment. I do this 4 or 5 times a day and it does help me stay positive.
Stay focused on your goals, determined to reach them, and positive that you wlll!
It also helps to take several deep breaths while telling yourself that you can handle today's obstacles!
Just do the best you can today. That's all any of us can do.

Sometimes a plateau is just your body adjusting to your new weight. The good news is that you are not gaining - which you will surely do if you give in and give up. It is discouraging, but you will get through this and start losing again. I got a lot of great ideas from Secrets of Success section on this site. If you haven't already, you might want to check out some of the ideas there and find something that makes sense to you. Good luck!

Judith, my friend, I am the plateau Queen! Aren't they aawful?! Do you have Anne Burnell's Chair Exercise DVD's? They are the only thing that keeps me alive when the weather is bad.

I've been struggling to fit working-out into my schedule as well. It seems as though I find excuses more often than not to go outside, or hit the gym. I read a quote earlier today and it helped; "If a man really wants something he will find a way, if he doesn't he will find an excuse." Stephen Dolley, Jr. Hopefully it helps you too!

Hang in there. There could be healthy changes going on inside your body, where you can't weigh or measure them. If it's too cold to get outside, try groovin' to some lively tunes on the stereo. The more I move, the less the cold bothers me. Must mean the blood is circulating better.

Hang in there. I've kind of hit a plateau myself. I just keep in mind that I haven't gained anything, and I feel better. We currently have 2 feet of snow and it's hard to exercise. Just hang in there and the lose will come.

I know it is hard to keep going when the scale doesn't reward you. Try to think positively about the healthy changes you are making in your life. Mix it up a little, do a different kind of exercise, try a new healthy food. Results will show eventually. Whatever you do, don't give up!!!
