3 year lifestyle change anniversary coming up soon...

Saturday, March 19, 2011

Thursday will be 3 years to the day that I got serious about losing weight, and stuck with it! :) I'm so excited. :) I'm looking forward to doing something fun that evening, after school, to commerate my lifestyle anniversary. :)
I am 9 pounds away from my reaching my original Lifetime Goal with Weight Watchers again. I have been training to walk the Crescent City Classic in New Orleans in April.

I jogged 11 miles on the elliptical two weeks ago, and was so excited that I cried.

I tried yoga for the first time two weeks ago, and I like it. I think it will help me greatly with slight balance issues I seem to still have with my left leg, that I didn't realize I still had after all this time.
A friend who used to work out with me at Curves, joined the gym about 3 weeks ago, and we've been going to night classes together. She is so fun to be around, so I've really been enjoying going to the classes. I started going strictly for emotional support for her, but realized how much fun those classes were, that now I go even when she can't come. :)

Zumba, kickboxing, aerobics, pump/combo, spin...I've tried all of these in the last 2 weeks, and love them all. :)

My favorite class is still Spin and Zumba is becoming a close 2nd now that I no longer dance like a penguin, and can actually follow the dances every now and then. :)

I'm still tracking every day, and have started to really pay attention to portion sizes, feel-full signals, and those green diamond foods for snacks, instead of prepackaged snacks which sometimes are loaded with a lot of extra sodium and sugar. I don't have health problems, I look for high sodium and sugars due to bloat. Who needs extra bloating when you're trying to lose weight?

Hope everyone is doing well, and sticking to the path of a healthier life. :) It's not a diet...it's a lifestyle. When I quit thinking about needing to lose weight as a diet, that's when I really started to see changes, and realizing that this is for the long haul...not a quick fix.
Afterall, diet does have that word in it..."die". Think there's a reason that word is in there? I think it's because some of the foods I had to eat when I thought of it as a diet, might just make me want to die. lol
