One more of vacation pictures ... Just to recap, I had the pleasure of spending a week in Brugge (Bruges), Belgium with my daughter, her family and her in-laws. While there, Becca and I spent three days visiting museums and exploring this beautiful old city.
This is one of the beautiful old churches.
This is the post office. What a gorgeous building!
We took a boat ride through the canals - it's a great way to get a different perspective on the city. Here you see a house that is built right over the canal - our boat had just passed underneath it. Talk about water in the basement!
Look at how narrow this street is! Obviously for pedestrians only!
This quiet area is a former convent for laywomen. Single women could choose to live here, follow the rules of church life without taking vows, and minister to the poor. We were able to tour one of the typical dwellings - very spacious and comfortable!
These are lace bobbins. We watched a demonstration of ladies making bobbin lace. They keep track of all those individual bobbins and weave them over and under and make beautiful lace!
Look how short this door is! Becca is about 5'5" tall, but she would have been in danger of hitting her head walking through this door. This wasn't the only short door in the city, either.
One more smile from my grandson An'nai. I smile when I look at it!
So there you are ... some of the beautiful sights in Brugge, Belgium. I hope you can enjoy them in person someday too!
