Measuring Day & Exercise Minutes from 1/3-3/25

I told myself that I wouldn't step on the scale for Lent. I'm not Catholic, but I become obsessed with that stupid metal box, and I put myself down when the numbers don't move down. I'll step back on that metal box on Easter.

From 1/3-3/25 I've lost 8.25" around my body.

I've done 3279 minutes of exercise.

I've had 2 slip ups in this time. Both were due to boredom/loneliness (my DH travels 3 out of 4 weeks a month and I find myself getting lonely and turn to food now and then). Other than that, I've tried to keep my Net calories between 1250-1400. I took a week long vacation and had a girl's nite out over this time and didn't cheat. Those 2 days were my only "Ooops" moments. Whew!

I feel good about myself. I'm starting to see clothes fit that didn't before. I still have a pile of skinny jeans that I would love to fit into. However, I've learned that this is a journey. I put this weight on with months/years of not paying attention to what went into my mouth. I wasn't doing strength training. I wasn't working out 6 days a week. That has all changed.

I'm proud of those 8.25" lost. That means that I'm moving in the right direction. I've never been a skinny girl. I realize that some of us have genetics that make it easier to be slim. I've got folks with Type II Diabetes and love to be sedentary in my family tree. Does that mean that I have to sit around on my branch? Not in your life!

We all have our moments of Oops. The trick is to dust yourself off and get right back at taking better care of yourself. I've dusted myself off twice now. I know that I'm moving in the right direction. What is that saying? "Slow and steady wins the race." Sure, I'd like to win this race in lightning speed, but I'm meant to enjoy the scenery along the way.
