4/16/11 Week in review

Saturday, April 16, 2011

This week has been a weird one. I was dealing with the laryngitis, then the nagging dry cough, then starting a new medication. The laryngitis finally left about Wednesday; so my job was a little easier in one way, but the coughing was still prominent. I wasn't coughing a lot at night, but morning was real rough. Today the cough is a lot better. This week I only got to the gym Sunday and today because of the cough/allergies. So today felt good. I did a nice round workout, so tomorrow will be a little lighter.

The doctor and I are trying a new medication, Lyrica, to help control the fibromyalgia pain. I am optimistic, although the medication has a $50 copay, which hurts. I have taken it for 2 nights, and figure once I get a week under the belt, I will know if it is taking care of the pain. I haven't been waking up groggy, so that is good, but the dry mouth has already started. I talked to the pharmacist, and she said to give it one week and see if it improves and how I am feeling otherwise. It could be that I might be able to split the contents of the capsules with less side effects.

Otherwise today I have been unproductive. I think it is because I have not slept well the past week because of the allergies and cough. So even though with the new medication I am waking up feeling alert, by the time late morning comes, I am tired and wanting to take a nap. I hope to get some meatballs and a roast baked up this weekend so I can have lunches for work next week. I am going to try to do some cleaning after posting this.

I wish everybody a good weekend.

I hope the Lyrica works out. Dry mouth is a very weird symptom I thought when I had it from something else. I wanted to drink water all the time but it didn't help. Really hope you get over that!
