I was so excited for this past weekend, I had a fun adventure booked for 2 of my kids and myself to go zipping through the trees and then it hit. Sinus infection. Not just any sinus infection but the king of all sinus infections. I don't care about these things, I get them about 10 times a year. Mostly I walk around saying...why do we even have sinuses? This one though, wow, it spread to my ears and throat. Again I ask...why do we even have sinuses?
The ziplining isn't cancelled, just postponed 3 weeks. I have to head out of town this morning and just moved the date. That didn't stop me from being an idiot though, no sir, I was still able to make the stupid decision that while leaping from tree to tree wouldn't be smart but a hike up the mountain would be fine. It's amazing how many times I think these thoughts to learn...WRONG.
I made it about one KM up the side of the mountain before I had to admit defeat. I was so frustrated. It was a wonderful day for a hike and I thought maybe if I just rested for a few mins we could carry on but then something happened to let me know that I really needed to go home. Hail. We stood in the clearing, one single boom of thunder and it parted the clouds, we were soaked and stinging while we went down the mountain, laughing the whole way.
A couple hours after we dried off I turned to my husband. Ok, ziplining can't happen, hike can't happen, I'll admit that a run is out but I'm pretty sure I can go for our long walk. Again, I hate to admit it but I was wrong. We made it half way and I again had to admit defeat.
Again...why do we have sinuses?
