Doctor, Lyrica and Gym.

Thursday, April 21, 2011

My allergies are doing lots better. I went to see the doctor today because my lungs were feeling "dry" the other day. I wanted to soothe my mind that it wasn't any kind of infection, but rather another allergy effect. She said that it all is pointing to allergies, and that I am a person that is extremely sensitive to allergens. She looked in the ears, nose, and throat, and no infection. I just need to use a humidifier when at home, especially during allergy seasons.

The doctor and I discussed the Lyrica, and the options that we currently have: increasing the dose to see if we can get better pain control while seeing if the dry mouth leaves for me or not; or decreasing the dose to see if the dry mouth decreases, but there would be less pain control. The doctor hadn't expected that I had stopped the pamelor yet, but was pleased to hear I had and was doing so well.

This morning since I woke up at 5:30, I decided to go to the gym at 7am, before I had to get ready for the doctor appointment. I did some treadmill first, then did my strength training. It felt good, until about 10 to 12 hours later when my fibromyalgia started getting bad. It is a good thing that I will probably not be at the gym again until Sunday.

I am off to bed, so will catch everyone later. Have a good one.

Best of luck. Fybromyalgia is a son of a gun. At least now the doctors will acknowledge that it exists! I remember a doctor telling me that it was just an excuse for being out of shape. Time marches on.
