Who died and left you in charge of me?

Sunday, May 01, 2011

Today is the first time I have ever done a blog. I am kind of annoyed wih people.
I worked my butt off dieting, exercising etc to lose 85 lbs. I have 26 lbs left to lose. I went from size 2x to medium.

My beef is that people are telling me to cut my hair. I like my long hair. I am able to manage it. I don't know how to style short hair. I live in hot Florida and I know that it getst frizzy. The people who say this to me are overweight and have short hair. I have photos of me with short hair- ugh!. I hate it.

I don't talk that way to others. I mind my own business about their clothes, their fat bodies, their hair. Frankly, I am more interested how I look, so I don't talk about them. I want to tell them to mind their own business.

My hair's not as long as it once was, but it's still longer than my now-usual bob. Frankly, I find longer hair a little cooler in the summer, since it can be put up (away from my neck) or even through the back of a baseball cap.

I have long hair too. Yep I'm 55 years old and I still have long red hair. I love my hair and I look like a boy with breasticles when it's short and that has only been one time in my entire life! Keep your long hair and if it gets frizzy, go and get some frizz eaze I think it's called. It's humid here in Alabama too. I usually just use a straightening iron on my hair and it does quite nicely.

I agree! People need to stay in their own lane. Some people are too quick to voice their opinions and need to keep their mouths shut and worry about themselves instead of getting into other peoples' business. I am glad you are venting your frustration! Just remember that it doesn't matter what others' say or think, You ARE the boss of you, so don't give their words power over you by thinking about them.
    Let it go!

My problem with those people is that I want to say something to them that will not hurt their feelings but will shut them up and get the message that I am incharge of my life and what I do with it. I have experienced in my past that I can be not a nice person and lost their friend ship. (what ever that is)

I agree with everyone else here. It's your life and you have to live it. Nobody else knows all the facts and they are telling you things based on only the facts they have. I never could figure out why people think they know it all and have the right to push their ideals and opinions onto everyone else, too. But I find it true wherever I go. I used to be in Amway and went to the sales meetings and training sessions and there was always some know it all out in the hall or standing in line telling others how to do this and that and what to wear without once considering the fact that you might have a higher sales record then they had. My question was always, "Why aren't you on the stage telling us why you are at Saphire or Diamond level?"

I don't mind getting suggestions or even hearing someone tell me about their journey and what they experienced, but nobody likes to be told to change, especially without considering why you might not be able to change to that style or anything else about you.

Had a girlfriend one time that liked to be a dictator on a few things. One day, after her tirade about something, I said, "I hope they let us know well in advance before our government changes from a democracy to a dictator cause I want time to leave the country. I'd never be able to live under a dictator!" I was looking her right in the eyes when I said it. There was a moment of silence as it all sunk in and then she laughed and apologized. Sometimes people don't realize how they are coming across or what they are saying with their words. Love and caring is what you need and you get that at SparkPeople!

This journey of losing weight is different for everyone. Like having a baby, no two births are the same. Sure they are all similar, like losing weight is similar to all the diet fads out there, but diet and exercise are not the only two things to consider. Just remember, you have to live, too!

Go for it! Smile and enjoy your life! It's yours afterall! emoticon emoticon
