Need Some Advice...Old Way Not Working Anymore...

Monday, May 02, 2011

Hi all...just wanted to get some thoughts from folks. I lost 70 lbs. then gained back 20. Have been trying to lose that 20 again and it's been so difficult. None of the same things have been working. I feel my body is so resistant to the things I was doing before. I'm exercising 4-5 times a week (mix of cardio and resistance bands) and my calories are between 1200-1700. I think I have had two or three days in the past 3 months where they were 2000. And boy the scale won't BUDGE - nor am I seeing any difference in the look of my body. The tape measure won't move either. I feel more conditioned and stronger - but it a bit defeating. Any advice to crack this plateau? Do I need to change the type of exercising I'm doing? The intensity? I do feel as if, although I'm able to do what I'm doing longer - that it isn't challenging enough.

Appreciate any thoughts!

I think you're right - I've just come too used to doing what I'm doing. I'm fine with water. I also reduced my calories. Sometimes I need to do that - take them down to 1200 and below for a couple days just to jog things around - then the scales budges and things get moving again.

    THanks for your comment, Deb.

I think this would be a good question for Coach Nichole. How are you doing on drinking water? I do believe that changing the type of exercise might just do the trip.
