I'm a member of the Shrink Yourself team here on Spark, having been tipped off about the book by someone on here a couple of years ago. What Dr Gould writes about, regarding emotional eating and the triggers for this, makes a LOT of sense for me. I also signed up a while back for the emails that he sends from the Shrink Yourself site, and they are often really timely - especially around the holidays, which are classic hotspots for emotional eating, but also at other times. I've found it incredibly helpful to have the weekly reminder coming in to my InBox, that there's more going on for me than just overeating -- there's a deeper cause.
So today: I signed up to do the Shrink Yourself course online. Finally! It was sort-of something I promised myself I would do as soon as I had my first pay cheque from going freelance... And yes, I've had good news on that front, so I'm sticking to my promise and I'm going to invest in MYSELF for the next 90 days and go through this journey/process to get greater insight into my emotional eating triggers. It'll be interesting, and no doubt a bit difficult at times... But I'm happy about doing it - it's time.
