Busy life

Wednesday, May 04, 2011

Life's been a lil crazy lately trying to fit in everything I have/want to do.

Still geocaching, but I finally found a job!!!! WOOOHOOOOO!!! It's only part time, in retail, but it's still money coming in. Things got pretty scary there for a while.

One of these days I'm going to throw on my pedometer and see how many steps I take. I'm on the move pretty much the whole time I'm there, so hopefully that will help kick start the weight loss again.

I've been maintaining +/- about 5lbs, but I still have a lot to get rid of.

I"m still cooking, and trying to eat healthy. Today I made my own pita bread and roasted red pepper hummus with feta. YUMMMMM

I'm really having a hard time keeping track of my foods, but I know on most days I'm running a calorie deficit, and started drinking meal replacement drinks because I just dont have an appetite lately.

It's probably stress. There is a lot going on. I know I'm exercising more with the running around at work, packing because we're switching apartments soon, and geocaching, but the weights not coming off, and it's probably because I'm not eating enough. :(

Anyone have any tips to motivate or even just REMEMBER to keep track?

Thanks for the comments and advice. I think I do have some of those WW quick tracks laying around, and I have the sparkpeople app on my phone. I think I'll start leaving little post it's around the house too, to remind me to track. :)

emoticon on being employed again, I know how much stress that can cause.

If you can remember to I'd definitely try to remember to track what you are eating. With a lack of appetite it is quite possible that the weight is being stubborn because you aren't eating enough. Good luck emoticon

Yay! for the job. FANTASTIC! It would be interesting to know how many steps you take.

Food tracking - there are lots of ways to make it easier. Carry a little notepad and make notes. Transcribe them when you get to SP. Another option is to make yourself a little pad of pages that have food lists and little check boxes beside each food for each day. It can be a simple as fruits, green veggies, carb veggies, protein and check a box per portion that you consume. Kind of like the quick track thing but with more food detail. Weight Watchers used to have pages like that and may still have them. One page per day. There are lots of examples on the web. It's not as accurate, but it gives a tracking method and personal accountability.

You may also find that you are eating more than you think.

First of all: WOOHOO! for the job! That's great news!

Secondly, as far a remembering to keep track: Do you keep your computer/internet on for long periods of time? I just leave SparkPeople open on my laptop, and whenever I get on it, I remember (although I don't always -do- it) to track my food and exercise. I'm not a fan of food tracking, since I switch up what I eat so often, but it helps when I've hit a plateau.
