A month and a lifetime ago...

Sunday, May 29, 2011

May was a rough month, as evidenced by my silence the past few weeks. And my weight loss faltered for the first time since the surgery in January. First I was ill (suspected kidney failure, turned out to be nothing serious, thank God!). Then I had to travel from home, disrupting my diet/eating plan. Then had to deal with the end of a relationship. After which I just got tired/lazy/discouraged.

I also made a major change in that I switched to a new set of scales. The old ones were apparently boosting my weight loss by up to 10lbs!

I guess this is just one of those seasons in life where challenges crop up on every side. Have to stop now, but I must add that things aren't all gloomy and sad with me. I'm learning about dealing with tough circumstances, that setbacks will come, but can be overcome.

Still, God is faithful and his strength is available through the hard times. And I did lose weight overall in May, even though not as much as I'd hoped. But I'm so ready for June!

Wow, sounds like a rough time all around. If you lost weight at all through that, I'd say that is cause for celebration. The important thing is that you are picking back up and continuing on this journey. It is a long, hard road as we all know here, and you should be proud of yourself for not staying discouraged but getting back on the horse. Welcome back, I hope you are feeling better and that life is nicer to you for a bit.
