A Long Overdue Blog!
Thursday, August 04, 2011
OK, I haven’t blogged for a while, and thats because I’ve got a job! It’s only temporary, but it’s still something to put on my CV. So for the last month it’s been work, work, work. And initially I found it difficult to lose the weight as I’m sitting down all day, I've been up and down in lbs, but I’ve now started losing again, and last week I lost 3lbs!
However, this week I think it will be difficult, as it was my sisters’ birthday and we celebrated with a meal out, a subway for dinner and chocolate cake. And the day before we went to the cinema and watched Captain America (it was great). The week before that we went to the cinema and watched Harry Potter (AWESOME) and the week before that was Transformers (which I liked). Looking at it, I’m surprised I’ve been losing any weight as every time I’ve eaten sweets, hot dogs, and popcorn happily, plus my evening off take away. But I have been really working hard. No night snacking, extra cardio and being extra careful in what I’m eating.
And the reason for the extra caution and focus??? My 24th birthday is exactly a month from now, and I want to drop another 4lbs before then. Last Friday I was 17st 8lbs (246lbs), and initially I wanted to be under 17st for my birthday, but I don’t think I can do that, so I want to reach my 4 stone loss by my birthday; as last year I was exactly 21 st 3lbs. So that’s my goal, and heck I’m aiming for it!
Also I had to go for an Xray on my lower back 2 weeks ago. Since last November, I have had terrible coccyx pain whenever I sit down. Since this job, my pain has doubled and I’m in about 5-6 hours of pain a day. So I finally went and got an xray. I was told by my docs receptionist that it was just wear and tare, but when I went to see him for some pain medication it turns out it is that, but it’s a little more than that. Basically, I have a slight left sided sclerosis to the base of my spine, some vertebrae have fused, some more vertebrae are rubbing together (causing the pain) and my 12th ribs either don’t exist or are little stubs. This means alot of back pain, and my left side will be a problem as I get older as the muscle isn’t as supported as the other side. So I’m going to see a specialist about exercises and strengthening. Thankfully my doc sees no problem in me going to the gym, and now I have to lose all of my weight. I’d already planned that, but now this gives me that extra motivation to reach my goals.
I hope everyone is great and speak soon.
