A New Do'

Since June 2010 I have been growing my hair out. I had worn it short for the past 15 years and my sister encouraged me to grow it out for her wedding this June. In that years time it reached chin length.
I was able to wear it in an updo for her wedding.
That day it looked nice. There were also a few days in between where I managed to make my hair look decent. The rest of the days.... well my hair was always shoved up in clips and in this tiny pathetic ponytail. I hated it. It was too hot, took too long to blow dry, I hated to spend the time flat ironing it, and the list went on. So the other day I finally did something about it.
I figured I'd try a new stylist. So I called a co-worker of my husbands who also works at a salon. She told me she'd be over after work to cut my hair. I wouldn't even have to take a trip to the salon.
She came over and I showed her some pictures. Then we got started. I sat anxiously as hair started falling around me.
When she got done she didn't style it, so I wasn't quite sure how it would look the next day.... but it seemed ok. I really had to wait for my new color and to style it though to really see the true cut.
The next day I had my husband color my hair. The color was great....... however when I tried to style it the cut was very helmet like. I really felt like a soccer mom. Something needed to be done. We were leaving in soon to celebrate my birthday, so we had to act quick.
Luckily my husband is a pretty handy with a razor blade. He whipped out that bad boy and went to town. 15 minutes later the texture I was missing was there and my cut had definition.
I now have this spectacular new style- a pixi variation, and it's like an apricot color. I LOVE IT! It is so easy to style- 2 minute blow dry, a little product, two strips with a flat iron and I'm done.
