Whoo Hooo....

Sort of....

Today is the first day of school - the first day of getting back into a routine!!! Whoo Hooo.....

I miss my little men though - so BOOO!

However - Running long distances with the monkeys around is not easy. I know they are perfectly capable of staying home while Mom goes and runs for an hour or so - but I feel guilty when I do - so I don't....period - no discussions. I will go longer when hubs is home - but that's only on weekends and typically we are so packed on weekends that long runs of more than 5 aren't an option.

So - I planned the remainder of my 1/2 training with my long runs on Tuesday....well that is today - and ..... it's RAINING....

I don't like the rain - so I thought I would just hit the treadmill - and switch my Tuesday/Thursday runs....no problem...

However - after 3.5 miles on the treadmill - I WAS DONE!....NO more....couldn't even eek out that last mile for Thursday...nope...

When I came up from the basement - I noticed that it was not raining - so I grabbed a hat, my book on tape (Thanks Lindsay - this is a great idea, and the time passes so much quicker) and out the door I went for 4 more....

So - with all of my disjointed running today - I have three starts and stops on my ipod for a total of 7.12 miles...in 75 minutes. I did go to my Galloway method today - and ran 5 walk 1....it worked for me. During the last mile I went to 4/1 - I was getting pooped....

I feel so happy right now - I know they weren't right in a row (it took me about 2 minutes to get out the door) - but I ran 7 miles. I have never run 7 miles.....

YEAHH!!!!!!!

Way to go! You did it! Good job running seven miles, especially with having to use the treadmill and running in the rain.

WHOOOHOOO!!! And in the rain! Glad the stories work for you too. I have run thousands of miles in my lifetime, and just get bored of the scenery and time with my thoughts. I want someone else to entertain me, and the books are perfect. And, I have gotten a chance to read tons of books that I would never get through after the kids go to bed. Well done on the 7, I am super happy for you.

AWESOME!! That's the way to get it done! I wonder if I'd like running more if there was someplace I could run outside near my home, but it's all old streets and bumpy sidewalks... so I'm stuck on the treadmill at the fitness center...

I think the fall schedule will make it easier for a lot of us to get back into a routine. I know I'm excited about it and I don't have kids in school :)

Good work on getting in your miles!

I still have to get in my miles for the day. My dd's went back to school today too. We all need to get into a routine so I think we were all ready for this day.

But now the craziness of fall sports schedules/practices kick in!

    Keep up the good work!

You worked it out! Way to go!

My kids started back today, too. It's nice to have them at school but it means I'm going to have to start getting up before 5 to get it all done. Pooooooo.

Are you still watching your neice?
