Finding a Balance

Is there a way to balance liking myself with losing weight? Can I still lose weight without obsessing over what the scale says? I am going to try to use SparkPeople.
I'm just starting to read a book called "When You Eat at the Refrigerator, Pull Up a Chair" and I'm hoping it will help me out. I want to love myself the way I am but still lose weight!
