Ok so... it didn't go as I planned

Sunday, September 25, 2011

Yesterday was the Susan G. Komen race 5k. For some reason this year I wasn't feeling it. I'm usually excited and pumped but when it came time for the race I was dreading every bit of it. I guess it's because I knew I wasn't ready for it. I told myself it's for a good cause so even if I walk it at least I'm out there getting it done. Yeah right!!! I felt like a complete failure. I know I should of been running that thing but instead I ran/walked and finished 7 minutes longer than my last years race time. I'm so disappointed in myself but I'm not giving up. I'm determined to run so I will not give up.

I'm already planning for next year and the plan is to KICK BUTT!! As for now, I'm going to keep plugging away at trying to get my groove back emoticon

Hope you all are having a blessed day,

Wishing you health, strength and losses.

** sigh ** ... ok, that was my sympathetic (I've felt that way before) sigh, AND my 'heck at least you were out there' sigh combined ... MUCH praise for doing it, sharing your frustration, and committing to doing it again next year.

That's a tough race to even have a time goal on - just too many people for a time goal to be feasible really. Choose to do that one to support the cause, then choose a different 5K to work on your time goal - PLENTY to choose from :)

I'M still proud of you :)

You won a battle today. You where victorious over your mental challenge by showing up. Your wall says it all......"strength shows in not only the ability to persist but the ability to start over".

    Therefore you equal strength.

Oh no, girlfriend...........don't you dare be disappointed in yourself! You got out there, and did it! While it may not have been how you wanted to, the important thing is you went, and you finished. I am SOOOOOOOOOO PROUD of you!

    Keep on keepin' on!
