6 Month Progress Report!

So, getting pregnant twice left me feeling fat and unfit. This is a scary thing for me, as I have been morbidly obese before and I never want to go back there again! The pregnancies definitely took their toll on my body, leaving me about 55 pounds heavier. Ack! 6 Months ago I embarked on a journey to get fit again. Here's my progress:
April: Could barely run for 30 seconds straight
Now: Can run 2 hrs 30 min straight (soon to run my first half-marathon and am hoping to run it in just under 3 hours!)
April: Could run a mile in approximately 16 minutes
Now: Can run a mile in just under 12 minutes
April: Could barely fit into Size 20
Now: Easily fit into my 16's and am VERY close to getting into my 14's!
Over the past 6 months, I have lost 32 pounds.
I get very impatient with this process, and wish I could lose it faster! However, looking at the past six months, I'm proud of what I've accomplished and hope to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight over the next 6 months! Plus, I'm officially addicted to running, and am glad to have something that hubby and I can do together!
This week, I dusted off my bicycle and took my first ride with the girls today. I'm looking forward to adding cycling to my routine. It's great for cross training days and I find it better on my legs than walking after my long run days.
Here's to the next 6 months and the next 23 pounds!
