I hate being sick

Tuesday, November 29, 2011

HATE IT! It messes with my workouts and my sleep and my general happiness. I've been fighting this stupid cold since last Tuesday and I'm frankly ready for it to be GONE! Frankly it makes me cranky and I hate being cranky.

I know it's just a cold but all I really want to do is just curl up on my coach and do nothing. I am proud of the fact that I managed to work out last night inspite of my cold but I'm afraid that I'm going to give in tonight and not go. I know I should let my body rest if it needs it but I afraid that if I stop tonight it'll spiral into well I can go tomorrow and 2 months later I'm still saying I'll go tomorrow :(

I totally hate being sick (this year seems to be a year of the cold for me), so I know how you feel. Listen to your body and allow it to heal. Think about it, if you push yourself too hard too quickly, you'll be spending even longer getting well then if you just let it run its course and get back to your routine when you're well. Do some light workouts and see if that's good for you. :-D In the meantime, stay hydrated and get well!

Totally totally understand what you mean. I've been sick with the flu and my biggest fear was waiting so long that I just wouldn't go anymore...

I ALWAYS TRY TO WORK THROUGH COLDS BUT IF I HAVE A FEVER OR ANY OTHER SIGNS OF FLU OR SINUS INFECTION I STEER CLEAR OF EXERCISE.

*sigh* I know you are right :( I just hate having my routine messed with...I might make a compromise and do a ST video from home instead of doing cardio tonight (i love my step classes lol)

HUGS - listen to your body. If it needs the rest, then it will let you know. The best way to heal is to give it what it needs. Taking a day off won't put you in a spiral, unless you let it.
