My Christmas Present to myself and my "secret" weapon

Wednesday, December 28, 2011

I got an unexpected christmas present from my parents, a gym membership (the whole family got one) and at my gym they offer personal trainer services at a reasonable rate.

I paid my car off this month (Merry early Christmas to me) and I have wanted to for a while to hire a personal trainer...so I did!!! I made sure it was less than what I was paying for my car so I knew I could afford it. So for the next year I will meet with him once a week. He works out with me on that day then gives me a work out for the rest of the week! I am really excited about this as I hope it helps me get into a good routine of ST and Cardio. He is my "secret" weapon as I still have my bet with my boyfriend emoticon My boyfriend is one of those who loves to know everything so it's kind of making him crazy that I won't tell him what it is, but it's all in good fun and he takes my teasing pretty well.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful Christmas and is ready for the new year. emoticon

Wow! What awesome presents! I hope you enjoy them all.

Great work paying off the car as well. I love paying things off - it is so liberating.

Wonderful! You will love having a personal trainer. I hired one once (when I could afford it) and really learned a lot. He/she will help motivate you, teach you sound form, and keep you on track. Good for you! Also, a big emoticon on paying off your car! You go, girl! emoticon emoticon BB~ emoticon emoticon emoticon

I am really excited I have wanted to do this for a while bur it's never been in my budget. As a single mom I always tried to put my son first but I felt that this was important enough that in doing this I WAS putting him first. And I've got the equipment at home that when the time comes I can maintain from home if need be :)

    I will gladly share!

Here is one tip he told me already

crunches tend to make you wider (though they still are good to do at times) He showed me an exercise using one of the weight machines at the gym that incoporates dynamic ab work . I ST tonight so I will get the exact name of the machine and exactly how to do it and post it as my blog tomorrow!
