My fat cells should be terrified. After a two week bout with a serious cold that almost turned into pneumonia, I'm back on track. I'm pretty proud of myself because even though I wasn't able to exercise due to awful coughing fits, I stayed on my diet. I mean I STUCK LIKE GLUE to my diet.
I've managed to figure out how to make this lifestyle change work for me. I don't like feeling deprived. I like to go out and eat. I appreciate a good piece of chocolate at the end of the day. Moderation has always been a struggle for me but I'm finally getting it. I track my calories religiously and I eat smaller portions.
I've started to LIKE exercising. What?! Yes, I said it! I like how I feel and who I am when I'm able to exercise. I find that it effects my entire day. When I'm able to work out, I'm happier and more content with who I am as a person. It's not a chore anymore, it's a privilege. One that I sorely missed when I was sick and couldn't do it. I guess what they say is true... exercise does become a habit after a while! It still totally cracks me up that I like running now. The old me wouldn't have believed it for a minute.
