Let your body decide!

Since I'm working at a child care center, my knees are working overtime! And, since I have to walk uphill to the bus stop for 20min each time, my legs are getting a workout! Needless to say, this morning my left knee was killing me. I started with some ibuprofin (since I have laryngitis anyway), so after about two hours the swelling went down. I started my exercise today, since I'm not scheduled to work for the next two days, with a 10min kickboxing cardio spark video, and then finished with the 10min lower body pilates video, strengthening the thighs. After that video, my knee felt infinitely better! Because of my cold, I had to modify the cardio to a more lower impact routine than usual, but that didn't matter much. My legs hated doing the bicycle pilates exercise, but that just means I need to improve those muscles. With each new video to try out, I'm discovering muscles I either never knew I had, or I now know which areas to improve upon. I'm learning that sometimes, my body decides what workouts to do. Once I listen to my body, I feel 100x better! How do you know what your body needs, and how do you listen to it?
