My first week.

Saturday, March 03, 2012

So I have been living a healthier lifestyle for one week now and I am down 3 pounds. While I am happy that I lost, I know that I could have done better.

I ate pretty well this week. When I went out to dinner with friends I got...wait for it...A SALAD! That has never happened before...ever! I was so proud of myself haha. I have also added fish (salmon, tilapia, shrimp, flounder, etc) to my diet three night a week for dinner. It is actually not too bad, it is amazing how many ways you can prepare fish (I will have to post some of the yummy ones I find along the way)!

I wish that I would have done better as far as exercise goes. I only made it to the gym 2 times this week. I ordered a Zumba workout DVD for the days I can not make it to the gym, and I am going to look into classes that my YMCA offers. My goal this week is to boost up the amount of exercise I get.

Until next time, my Spark friends! :)

You are off to a great start! Losing three lbs is nothing to be disappointed in! You did workout twice, so that maybe twice as much as you've done per week on a normal basis before? Doubling your work effort is great! :) Like someone said earlier, it is all in how you look at it and striving to do the best you can. I agree staying positive is very important.

It will become a way of life after a while and you'll feel so good about the choices you are making. (btw, my son & his fiancé are getting married this Sept. and have been eating better and exercise, too! )
Good luck in you and your fiancé's journey to becoming healthier!!!

Don't down 3lbs. In all reality health weight loss should average 1.5-2 lbs a week, so, in all honestly, that was an above average performance! From experience, you've got to take everything positively, or you'll get tired and give up. That advice comes from the 15 lbs, I'm trying to lose, AGAIN.... :)

Great results for your first week. I think it's especially important that you note the areas in which you've done a particularly good job, as well as those in which you need a bit of improvement.

    Keep working at it!

And best of luck to you on this journey.

Congratulations!!! Even though you know you skipped on the exercise, at least you got SOME done. Plus you must have eaten pretty well in order to lose 3 pounds! Keep it up!!!! If you find that time becomes an issue to get to the gym, look in the fitness section of Spark People, they have lots of exercise that take 10-15 minutes and are very easy to do at home! I'll be keeping an eye on your progress!!!
