Day 83:

This Spring thing is really working for me! It has me really working anyway. I think all the chores I've been doing outside has taken away from my binging/munching time which has really helped in the weight loss area. Also I have been making soups so that way I can just eat either that or some salad or veggies and dip if I get hungry since I haven't had much cooking time. It also has me thinking of some other things that seem to be working for me that may or may not have been planned.

Like not eating meat anymore, just a side effect not planned, but I'm enjoying it and it seems to be working for me and I don't miss it.

Going back to my gluten free diet, definitely planned and harder than not eating meat. I actually still cheat a tiny bit, not much or often, but overall feel better for cutting it out of my diet again. I miss it just because my husband likes to torture me with homemade breads and pizza dough.

I don't watch TV. Definitely not planned. I wasn't a big TV watcher to begin with but now I may watch it a few times a month at the most if I happen to sit down when my husbands off to "watch" a game with him and the boys. I'm not crazy about sports but at least it gives me time with the boys. :) I used to watch TV at night but then I found myself staying up too late and then in turn sleeping too late. So I'm happy with how things are turning out. It's working for me and I don't miss it.

I don't drink sodas anymore, although I wasn't a big soda drinker before but when we would take the boys somewhere I would normally have one. Now I don't. I DO miss the feel of that cold carbonation sliding down my throat at times, BUT it seems to be working for me so I'll stick with it. Plus I have to keep reminding myself how horrible it is for you.

Sticking to water. I used to make tea for the kids but I would end up drinking it a lot. A lot more than I would have liked to admit. Now they just go without which is better for them and me. I do buy cranberry juice which I will have a tiny bit every day or so. I do have at least one cup of hot green tea a day. But otherwise I stick to water and it seems to be working for me, and no I don't miss that sweet tea anymore. Who knew? :)

Weighing everyday, which I talked about more in detail yesterday, also seems to help me keep my eye on the ball and seems to be working for me.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
Being a part of a challenge also seems to really help me. It's not just for me now that I need to lose the weight or get my cardio minutes in for, it's for the team. So If I don't make my goal for the week, it's not just me I'm letting down but the team. It's working for me and helps keep me motivated.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
I still have quite a ways to go and I still have things I need to continue to work on like upping my cardio and definitely adding in more strength training and being more consistent in both.
I'll get there though!! One day at a time!!!

Keep Moving Forward!!!

Hi! The warmer weather certainly does make us think of lighter meals and lots of salads...thinking of adding a full garden this year in addition to my herb container gardens! We really enjoyed the fresh herbs last year, and want to add lettuce, tomatoes, etc...so that is is the planning stage! Better get moving!!!

Sounds like you are make GREAT strides! Always hard to switch up the diet when you have DH and children in the house - I thin that is my biggest struggle!! But we keep on "keeping on"!!!!

Keep up the great work - I love the challenge as well!! Week 2, Day 1 - have a great day!!!
