Day 84: Food Inc. and Treadmill Update

Sunday, March 25, 2012

I watched Food Inc. last night and if you have not seen this movie yet, you need to. I got it from the library, so you can just check it out for free. I think it's something everyone needs to see and needs to probably see once a year or so so we don't go into denial again. It's just outrageous what is going on in our own backyard, in the great United States of America. We're supposed to be able to be proud of what our country is doing, we're not supposed to be ashamed. Something needs to change.

OK, I'm too brain fogged to think about that anymore right now. I think I have a sinus infection. Yuk! Now I know why I had been feeling off. Definitely had been breathing in too much pollen.

On another note Marki aka (RYDERB) (Thank you!) reminded me that I hadn't given an update on my treadmill. The technician finally came out yesterday and said he needs to order a new motherboard, which he can't do until Monday of course and then it could be another week or so after that. This is getting really old. I ordered it on February 28th and still have not been able to use it. :(

On a high note, so I won't leave this on a low one, I was down 4.2 pounds this week!!!
YAYYY!!!! I'm a little in shock by it. It's the biggest loss in one week I've had since I started. I guess that's what makes me nervous. I will just have to work hard to make sure it doesn't come back on. I CAN DO IT!!! I have one pound to go and keep off to be at my next goal date which is April 12th. I CAN do that too!!!!

Happy Sunday everybody!!!! And don't forget to go to the library tomorrow and check out Food Inc.

    Congratulations on the weight loss!!!

As for "Food, Inc."...how do you feel about Monsanto now? Lol. Nerd that I am, I watch documentaries for FUN. I choose them over movies, because I always learn something. What we allow Corporate America to do to our farmers is DEPLORABLE!

I'm really considering having a garden at my mom's house, since I don't have any room myself.

Watching those food-umentaries scares the gee-whilickers out of me! If you haven't watched forks over knives, you should. That's a good one, too.

Glad to hear you're rocking your weight loss goals! Way To Go!

YAY for the loss!!!! That is awesome!!!

I haven't watched Food INC., but I have watched Forks Over Knives, and have changed up my diet due to it. I am not 100% vegetarian (vegan), but 80% of the time, I eat meatless. It really is an eye opener, and I have told all of my co-workers and family about it. I need to check out Food Inc now...

The only thing I didn't like was that it was so one sided. It's wild because I was at the gas station yesterday and I am pumping my gas, and on the little tv above the pump they are saying how they have done a study on red meat and depression levels in women, and women who eat less red meat are more depressed....
    emoticon
I want to know who headed up that study.....

Keep up the great work!!! You will be celebrating your goal weight in NO TIME!

I watched several movies including food inc on netflix, so insightful. By nature I am a very trusting person, that movie opened my eyes to what is going on in the food industry. Congratulations on the weight loss !

Sara congratulations on your amazing week! Your body appears to LOVE the new healthy vegetarian food you've been feeding it! emoticon
I'm so sorry about treadmill. How frustrating. I hope that once it's fixed that it is worth the wait and all the frustration. Thanks for the update.

I saw that movie. Definitely a must watch. Also, if you are interested check out "Fat Head". A light and funny documentary kind of making fun of and contradicting that movie where the guy only ate McDonald's for 30 days. (I can't remember the name). Anyway, it's all about choices and having the ability and right to say NO to foods that are not good for us. After watching "Food, Inc" and an Oprah episode about being vegan, I went vegetarian. Have been now for over a year and I feel great. No weight loss, but, more energy and my brain is less foggy. I have started eating fish on occasion, but, am careful about where I get my food. I only get eggs from a local farmer. Yuck, how chickens are treated. Anyway, have a great day and good luck with the treadmill. Total YEA on the weight loss! HUGS!
