9 Inch Plate

Friday, April 06, 2012

Many of the 5% Challenge participants asked for new and different Living the Good Life's. Well, the Overall Leaders were listening! This week we earn our LTGL points by eating our meals off a 9" plate. I am all for this one. Many a day do I lament no longer having the set of dishes that included "luncheon" plates. I loved them.

So being not much of an estimator (I have to have a ruler to measure how big a sheet of paper is) I was anticipating a trip to the dollar store to buy a kiddy plate. Au Contraire! You know how when you use something day after day, the design no longer registers. I got a plate out of my cupboard to measure and started chuckling. My plates have a black circle around the rim and, my oh my, imagine my surprise, a second black circle at 8 1/2inches. If I keep my food corralled within the inner circle, I'm good to go!

Measured my plate this morning with a ruler and was excited to see it was 9.5 inches. I can keep my food within the green lined circle from now on! Been using these plates for over 5 years and always thought they were 12 inches. Oh, what we learn from our Sparkfriends. Onward Bound!

I always use a 9-inch plate to eat from and have been doing so for the last 3 years!

Brilliant! Rulers are good tools. I especially like the elastic one I use to measure my waist. emoticon Have a great day and good luck on the challenge.
