Are you steadfast?

Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone is having a great day!

Have you ever had one of those days where you question your resolve? I feel like I am just wandering aimlessly. I haven't really set any definite goals for this journey so...how can I travel successfully if I don't know where how I am going to get to
my goal?

I know that I have to lose 169 more pounds to get to my goal but I haven't really thought much about the steps I will take to get there. I know I have to eat better
and watch my portions. I know I have to exercise and get my sleep. I just haven't spent anytime thinking about and setting my goals.

TODAY is the day!!

I have a destination but I need to plan for the stops along the way. This is a journey so there will be lots to see, do and learn along the way so I need to plan
for it.

I am getting really excited just thinking about it.

I have been studying John 14 in my Bible. I have been studying some of the words that I have come across. One in particular really hit home. Steadfast

The dictionary defines steadfast as fixed in direction; firm in purpose or resolution; unwavering firmly established; fixed in place

The concordance defined steadfast as firm, persistent and determined in one's endeavors.

We need to be steadfast in our walk with Christ and also in our journey to lose the weight and get healthy. We can't do this alone but God is there to help us on
the way.

So if you haven't set your goals (like me) make today the day. Make your plan, write it down, and then be steadfast in working your plan!

Our SP journey is a life's long trek to a healthier lifestyle. Just as we work to grow our relationship with God, we must work to progress on our health trek. As Christians we still sin but we ask for and receive forgiveness as we repent. AS Sparkers we will take side trips but we must return to the trail set out for our trek. Keep the excitement going.

Great blog! Very inspirational for me...I'm just starting this journey and I'm having a hard time keeping my goals at the front of my mind. I've been trying to come up with visual reminders...images, words, phrases that will keep me focused on my goals. I think Steadfast is perfect!

Hi, I was browsing and huddling and saw the title, Are You Steadfast? and thought I'd click on it, and then saw you wrote it. Really good blog, Susan. I, too, have been thinking a lot about my goals, I've written a few while reading The Spark, but there are a lot of other goals I need to think about and write down. Thanks for the reminder. emoticon

I love this. It's hard NOT to have goals in mind but to put them down in writing, making them definite can be scary. Really making them count as well. I know for me, I had goals but I still was wondering aimlessly sometimes.

You should also put those goals somewhere you see them everyday!
