I failed.

We went away for the weekend. It was beautiful. I had a lovely time with my family. And I ate like a horse. I was too tender in my improved ways to hold up under the intense pressure of last weekend. Its an important lesson in having friends who encourage you to make healthy choices.

On the 10 hour car ride home, my most amazing husband suggested we have a "Week of Clean Living." Aka - gluttony weekend detox. It was rather brilliant, really, and just what we both need to get back on track. We set some goals for the next seven days:

1. Eat out three times or less
2. Exercise 5 times
3. Consume 3 alcoholic drinks or less
4. Eat one meal or less per day involving cheese

We talked about our biggest hangups with a healthy lifestyle. We both currently exercise 3 times a week, so upping to 5 isn't that big of a deal. His biggest issue is cheese. Mine is portion control. It was good to talk about this and set some goals together. It will be easier together.

I got on the scale tonight, and I'm up 4 pounds. Not as bad as it could be. I'll be interested to see what the scale says in the morning.

    Yay for the amazing and supportive husband! Sounds like good goals for the week. Just what you need to remind you that you can do this, even after an abysmal weekend.
