Lessons from my food journal

So I've been keeping my food journal on paper. Last week I learned that when I don't eat a good lunch I'm snacking the rest of the day!
Also when I eat supper early, as I have to on certain days... I want to snack all night. Solution is to have a healthy snack (or small fourth meal) a little later to ward off those late night snacks!!
This week I sat down and logged my food in on SparkPeople for the week... It started out okay, but by weeks end... oh my! How could I have consumed so many calories on one day!! So this week I am going to try to not only keep my journal, but also to log it at least daily so I can avoid those calorie pitfalls!! Here's hoping!
