More pounds gone!

Sunday, October 14, 2012

I can't believe that I have been losing weight like this. For a long time it was 89 lbs and I was so happy and proud of myself. Today it is 93.8 lbs. I feel great. And I look in the mirror and I think I look great also. My intention for this blog is NOT TO BE BRAGGING. My intention is to say that I recommend that when you lose even 1 lb. You should get excited about it. I had to start at 1 lbs.
Each day that went by, was one more day that I exercised, I ate right, I followed the plan. I never moved my head or my thought of not following it through. Many times in my life, I didn't finish things. My Mom always said that to me. But I did Mom, "how do you like me now?' I am hoping that she is watching me right now and shaking her head with a big smile emoticon on her face. My husband has been the most supportive person in the world.
emoticon . He is the best support person. I will be glad to rent him out. (I'm saving for an Ipad) Any way the main thing I want to say is that when you have even 1 lbs lost, keep going, don't stop. 1 leads to 2 and so on. It is better than 1 lbs leading to 2 on the gaining side. YES, I did have weight loss surgery. almost 3 years ago. But I am the one who exercises, watches what I eat and other things I do....Weight loss surgery is not the easy way out. No way no how. So look for the win for the loss, everyone. You can all do it. If I did it so can you. As always, if anyone needs some help, I will help them. You only need to ask. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Good job Ilene. I'm so glad you have an understanding supportive husband. Not everyone does. How is the weight loss going today? Have you reached goal?

Congratulations on losing pound after pound. You are doing so well! I agree to celebrate each and every pound lost.
For me it is taking what seems like forever! But, each pound lost is a pound closer to my goal. I lose at a very slow rate--a pound a month is a good rate for me. But, I only have about 15 pounds to go, so by Christmas next year I should hit my goal. At least I have it in view! Eating this way has to become a life long habit, so I am on my way!

Ilene. I am not surprised at all because you are so strong-willed when you really believe and you refuse to give up no matter what when you know something is right. And you know that low carb is the way to keep the weight off and I agree with you completely from all the research we've both done.

You are my inspiration to keep going and the inspiration for many others as well. That's why you're our Momma Grok--you are unwavering and we look to you for guidance everyday.

You are passionate and refuse to go back. You have truly embodied what it means to change your lifestyle.

You are not focused on the weight loss; you are focused on day to day living and exercising, eating healthy one meal at a time, and working your plan without fail, no matter what the situation. You don't confuse your body--you do the same healthy plan day after day and your body is responding to the healthy behaviors that you have.

YOU ARE NOT A QUITTER AND I'M SO PROUD TO SAY YOU ARE MY INSPIRATION! I am so proud of you and you deserve to brag!! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

What an awesome weight loss. I have a lap band but I only lost about 20 lbs when I first had it and had it filled twice but I never lost weight because I didn't eat right or exercise. I thought the band would do it all. Well this year when I started sparkpeople I haven't had my band filled I just have changed my lifestyle and eat better and walk and I have lost 38 lbs. So no way is your weight loss all because of your band. Like you have said before it is a tool not an instant way to lose weight. Good for you!

I'm so happy for you! and you are totally on track. It is us that does all the work and makes all the choices. Don't let anyone steal that away from you because they think you cheated with surgery. My extended family is starting to learn just how much I work to get my results. I think it's awesome your husband is a great support for you, I don't know what I would do without mine. Here's to our health!
