The Holiday Rush

Monday, October 22, 2012

Somehow today the entire holiday season is on my mind and that of my co-workers. Now - hear me out - we are involved in it because we are a distributor of hair care products and sell to salons so they need to plan early. But I am a planner also, shop all year and truly love the season - all of it.

There was a blog I read today that the person choosing the theme for their Christmas celebration was choosing that they needed to write each other a personalized letter. I love that idea. The last time I wrote a letter like that was for my daughter's 16th birthday. That was 12 years ago. What a wonderful gift to give your loved ones. Both of my daughters have birthdays the week before and I think I will do this for that occasion but I love the idea. I think that I will make it a goal for 2013 to write a letter to my loved ones (family or friends) for their birthdays. Their birthdays are important to me also as I would be so much less without each of them in my life.

So - back to Christmas. I'm smiling just thinking about it. Time to prepare - time to plan - time to celebrate as a family - and time to rejoice that God so loved the world that he sent his only son. Peace to all.

I'm one of those people that do the same thing every year so I don't have to plan it out. But I understand about your work planning. When I was grooming dogs we started taking holiday groom appointments in September. Or at least letting our customers know that they should make their appointments that early, cause if they wait they won't be able to get their dogs groomed when they want or need them clean by.

I'm not sure if I have ever written a letter like that. When my older brother was in the service I would write to him. Some times I will write to my older step sister, but usually she will write to me first. That would be something cool to do for your kids though. Just a letter to let them know how much they mean to you. Maybe if mine would ever move out I might feel the urge to let them know ...... but right now ...... nah I like to keep them on their toes, lol!! ........ I tell them a lot how much they mean to me and that I love them for who they are. They roll their eyes at me.
