It all began 3 years ago...

Three years ago, DH and I went to talk to the Dr. about having the Lapband Surgery. We were there for just a few minutes, and I decided that I was going to do it. emoticon

Then we went into the office to speak about the charge for the Surgery and I filled out the paperwork. And Bing, Bamm, Boom in 8 minutes I had a surgery date. It was the best few minutes of my life. DH is the one in the family that thinks and thinks and thinks about what he is going to do. But me? emoticon

I am impulsive and I make my decision right away. I am not at all sorry for my choice 3 years ago since I have lost 96 lbs total.. I tried to make it 100 lbs but I could not do it for Dec 31, 2012. No complaints from this gal. emoticon

I am loving my team sisters at Lapband Rulers. They call me Momma Grok, this is me. emoticon

You rock my friend! I didn't know how quickly you decided to do surgery.
Usually I make very impulsive decisions but not with the band. I had to be in a program for several months before they even talked to me about surgery so it was great thinking time.
Thanks for your inspiration, support and friendship!

i guess for me the total opposite is true, i went to three different doctors, probably 3 years ago i began going to one doctor and then i find out he is leaving soon and i wonder where will that leave me...so i leave and find a new one, go thru the process with him and get to the surgery date and back out, then i find another doctor and go thru it with her and get to my date and she has to re-schedule, the best thing that ever happened to me
i went back to her for a visit, and told her i wanted lapband and not gastric and she didnt agree so told me to come back to see her in 3 months, and i didnt, because i went home and got out and went for a walk, and seven months later, and ive lost 64 pounds, without surgery and im glad i chose not to do it, i am glad it has worked for you and for everyone who has had it
but for me, the best choice was to make myself really work harder, i had been in the mindset that the surgery would come first and the hard work next
but i decided to do the hard work first and have the surgery later, but once i began losing, i knew the choice had been a good one
im glad i didnt have the surgery
    but im not against it
i just think it was best for me, cause 3 different docs and 3 years and nothing
then one day i just woke up and said, time to do it and i did....good luck to everyone emoticon
