Lost With Out My Spark People!!!!

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Oh, how I have been left feeling helpless and alone....I never thought I would be one of those people....you know!! One of those people, who just couldn't live with out the technology, with out the computer, the phone line....well when I was with out service not for one day but 4 days and couldn't log in for support or to track anything....I fell apart...being sick and house bound. I went nuts, I climbed the walls and they brought not one, not two but 3 cakes in the house.......and I think 3 was the majic number before I caved...the cell phone let me down I tried to log in with it and I couldn't get through... emoticon and the fighting with the husband over all the junk food in the house..that isn't helping.. to really top things off, it was our 34th wedding anniversary Sunday and he decides to grill me a tenderloin steak, baked potato....sounds great right!! Would have been if it was only 1 - 2 1/2 inch steak on my plate when he brought it in all prepared potatoe loaded with a ton of butter...of coarse being our anniversary, I couldn't say anything....but I did wrap the second steak for lunch the next day. emoticon I just don't get it, doest my husband prefer me heavy...I have so many health problems and need to drop some of the weight, I just wish he would understand. I really missed you guys I need your support so much these past 4 days. I'm begining to wonder if my laryngitis is because of the stress.. Thanks so much for listening.........

My ex-husband wanted me to be fat...which I wasn't when I was married to him, because my nerves made me lose a lot of weight. (he was an alcoholic). There are some men who like fat women. There are some men who think if their wife gets thin, they may lose her. There are some men who don't even know they feel this way, so they don't realize they are jeopardizing their wife's desire to lose weight.

Try talking to your husband and see if he has any issues with you losing weight. Tell him how much you love him, and there is no reason for him to be afraid. Tell him you want to be around as long as possible, and you need to lose weight and improve your health for that reason.

If none of this works, take him to your next doctor visit so your doctor can explain the importance of weight loss. Hopefully something will sink in and he will start helping instead of hindering you.

We men often just do not get it. As my better half pointed out sometimes you have to explain it with a bat lol. sit down with him explain how sweet he is and that you are trying to lose weight to stay healthy and next time as tempting as the junk food you will throw it out. Trust me he will get the message. (Do this only if he is very nice and sweet).

Cindyast said it right. You need to sit with him. You know communication is the first thing as a couple is needed. If he had deaf ears the first time. Then approach him nicely in a quiet time which is best not him watching a hockey game or a t.v program.

You will find a time. Yes he probably thought he was being a great hubby for your Anniversary. That was kind of him But it is But you are saying now. I know.

    Handle with care in love.

    Bless you. .

Spark has been so helpful to me as well. Just being able to track food and exercise has made a HUGE difference!
I do want to comment on something you mentioned in your blog, about your husband being supportive. If you've been married any length of time, preparing wonderful food to eat (like steak and potatoes with butter for your anniversary) has probably been how he's expressed his love and care to you, it's a tough habit to break. And he probably thinks he IS showing love to you by cooking for you. After all, he's going to a lot of trouble for you. If you haven't told him, and I mean TOLD him, not hinted, not beat around the bush, but USED YOUR WORDS and TOLD him you'd really like to lose weight and improve your health and exactly what you need to do to accomplish that, that's something you need to do. Do it with respect and at a time when he's not trying to show you love by feeding you. Keep your tone sweet and just tell him what you need to be successful and ASK for his help. If you haven't done that, give it a shot, you might be surprised to find out he really can't read your mind! : ) and wants to be helpful. If you have, then please forgive me for being so bold.
